The Old Amplefordian Golfing Society was founded at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 1912 and is open to anyone who has attended Ampleforth College.

Our golf ranges from the Halford Hewitt (Royal St George’s and Royal Cinque Ports), the Grafton Morrish (Hunstanton and Royal West Norfolk) and the Cyril Gray (Worplesdon),  which are representative competitions, the Spring and Autumn meetings and matches against other old schools societies.  We also have annual tours to the North West and to Northumberland.

The OAGS currently has about 150 members of all abilities. Across the year, we have some 25 events. There is a small annual subscription (free up to the age of 26) and match fees which vary depending on the venue/number of rounds / lunch involved. However, we have a fund which is used to subsidise the cost of some meetings for younger members.

So, if you want to play golf in a convivial atmosphere on some of the country’s best courses with a group of like-minded individuals concerned as much with enjoying a day out as with the actual quality of the golf, then please get involved.
